The right features make a “house that works” and that sells more quickly than others when it’s time to move on. Meet one family who worked through a remodel and addition adding features that increased value and livability at unbelievable savings.

Meet another owner-builder who decided to sell after two years and got asking price when other houses were not selling at all. His recommendations on “must-have” features for resale, and what you can do to incorporate strategic features for much less than contractor-built homes.

What features work, and how can you plan for them at a savings? Visit a Parade of Homes with a look at mandatory features that pop up in each price range. We do a low-medium-high comparison of typical custom house features found in “Parade” homes.

Includes a $1,000 Idea by Mark Smith, author of The Owner-Builder Book.

Run time: 78 minutes.
