How can we obtain an SBA with my father in laws good credit, but my husband being the one licensed?

My husband is a licensed contractor in California (construction), we are a sole proprietorship. Due to the recent wildfires and a bad year in general, we are economically injured. If we don’t catch up, we will fail. Our business does well under normal circumstances. We can prove over $12,000 per month in deposits over the last 3 years. However, our expenses are $12,001 on a good month. Our major obstacles have been ourselves and will look back one day to appreciate the trial and errors that we have endured. Not solving our $85,000 in unsecured debt (personal / business combined) and much more in secured. Due to many late payments, penalties, our credit has gone south–very south.
My husbands father has excellent credit and a fixed income. He had an accident years ago that left him disabled to the extent of driving privilages revoked. He lives1 mile away and is sound enough to obtain a loan and would be thrilled to help in any way. How do we use his credit to grow our company?

Make him President (If a corp) or member(if llc) of your company.
Apply for loan, guaranteed by him personally. The contractor’s license is generally in the individual’s name so would not matter.
Your company’s financial report will matter in getting the loan, but with father-in-law’s credit will help.
Your father-in-law should consult with a good lawyer to insulate himself from personal disasters.
